This study examines the impact of alternative designs of the Spanish Wealth Tax using fiscal microsimulation techniques based on administrative microdata from the Spanish Tax Agency’s Household Panel. We compare the current structure of the tax with eight simulated scenarios that either modify key parameters such as exemption threshold, regional deductions, and tax base or simulate real designs inspired in the Norwegian, Swiss or French wealth taxes and in a scheme proposed by Piketty (2014).

This paper reviews the literature on polarization, describing the main methods and measurements developed since its conception. Over the last three decades the measurement of polarization has received a great deal of attention and its field of study has only increased but, since space is limited, we focus here on the theoretical methods and advances proposed, abstracting from their empirical application to different distributions of individuals, regions, and countries.

Technological change fuels economic growth, but its impact on wage inequality remains contested. This study presents a unified empirical framework that isolates the effects of new technologies such as automation and AI on the entire wage distribution. We develop a continuous and task-sensitive automation index and propose a distributional counterfactual-based method.
